Educational Leadership 
Theory Into Practice

An understanding of and experience with the tenets of educational best practices for students with and without learning differences.

Communication Skills

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated success in working collaboratively, flexibility with colleagues, staff, parents, volunteers and the surrounding community

Administrative Experience

Administrative experience including supporting student self-management and discipline, faculty and staff evaluation, mentoring, team building and using data to inform decision making.

Commitment to Diversity

A commitment and ability to foster an inclusive and diverse learning environment that embraces and celebrates differences, including differences in learning, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic background, religion, and sexual orientation.


A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum, and Instruction, Special Education, Communication Disorders, Psychology or other related fields.
Experience with the high school educational environment and expertise in working with high school students and their families
Effective consensus building and institutional leadership that is respectful, supportive, collaborative with and empowering of colleagues
A maturity and depth of experience that engenders respect and trust
Task orientation with excellent time-management skills to accomplish goals
An articulate, compelling communication ability
A passion for improving lives of students with learning differences and connecting with those who share this goal

Physical Education / Health Teacher


Description: We are seeking an experienced high school Physical Education and Health teacher dedicated to teaching to the strengths of college-bound students with learning differences to join our team.  Coaching and additional opportunities may be available.

Social Studies Teacher


Description: We are seeking an experienced high school Social Studies teacher dedicated to teaching to the strengths of college-bound students with learning differences to join our team.



Description: Wolcott School is seeking Substitute Teachers for our college preparatory high school to work periodically throughout the 2017-18 school year. Candidates with some school experience and familiarity with current technology are preferred. An Illinois Teaching Licence is not required. Wolcott School is an independent coeducational day school designed around the strengths of our students.
